Passing on the Tradition Support Group
2008 Seminar & Events Results
April 19, 2008 KenLake Resort (Kentucky Lake)
The Bowfishing 101 Team arrived at KenLake Resort on Friday afternoon Apr. 18th. After checking into the Cottages and eating a little lunch, we headed to the Bay View Building to set-up all the Bowfishing Equipment and computer to show Bowfishing DVD's at the Meet-N-Great that the Support Group would be hosting on Friday Evening. Several individuals showed up in spite of the stormy weather (Heavy Rain).
On Saturday morning the weather was a little on the cool side (Mid 40's) and overcast. The Seminar was scheduled to start around 9:00 am. and by 9:15 am. there where 38 people sitting in their chares waiting eagerly to start learning about the Sport of Bowfishing. All during the classroom portion of the Seminar a lot of good questions where asked, and the members of the Training Team answered all questions. Between the different topics that where discussed there where door prizes given away. At the end of the classroom portion of the seminar everyone participating had a nice door prize gift in hand.
After a lunch brake, everyone headed out side for some hands-on training, and the opportunity to compete for a nice prize that was donated by AMS Bowfishing (Retriever Reel) the person that shot an arrow the closest to the dot on the Muzzy Buffalo 3D fish target would be named the winner. Next we took everyone to the water, and let them shoot at targets in the water using real bowfishing Bows and Arrows. This taught everyone the importance of aiming low when shooting at an object that is under the water.
Everyone had a Great Time, and KenLake Resort has asked the Support Group to please schedule another Bowfishing 101 Training Seminar again for April 2009. And we told them that we would be happy to come back and teach another group of individuals that would like to learn more about one of the fastest growing archery sports. BOWFISHING!!!
